Project record

Akashic Roots

A complete history of the website project: two websites, one of them finished and waiting, reconstructed from every file the work left in Google Drive and every message sent about it across three threads. Each date below is either a timestamp Drive holds against the file, or the day a message was sent.

Drive metadata and message threads read 1 Aug 2026 · 179 files across two folders · 31 quoted messages · April 2024 – August 2026

The shape of it

Each bar is one month, sized by how many files were created in it. The shaded stretches are the months when no production file was made. Underneath runs the second track — the same span as the messages record it. The two do not tell the same story, and where they differ the messages are the fuller one.

Bar heights use a square-root scale so the quiet months stay visible next to October 2024; the exact file count is printed above each bar. Files are counted in the month they were created. Dots on the lower track are the quoted messages listed further down.

What the record shows

9 findings, each one traceable to a timestamp in the tables below or a message in the thread.

  1. There have been two websites built in two years, and the second one is finished.

The first was a Squarespace refresh, built by a different contractor and finished on 1 August 2024 — “Just put the finishing touches on the refreshed site.” The second was built from scratch in Webflow between 29 August and 6 October 2025, and approved on 7 October. The project has never been short of a website. What it has been short of is the last step.

  2. The site was built, delivered and approved — in October 2025.

This is the part no file in Drive records. The developer was re-engaged on 29 August 2025, the desktop design came back on 6 September, a finished responsive homepage was sent on 6 October at akashic-roots.webflow.io, and the reply the next day was “I love the website.” It was built in Webflow, which writes nothing to Drive, so the file record shows a blank where the best work of the project sits.

  3. What stalled was the remaining copy, not the build.

On 28 October 2025 an exact process was sent for it: old-copy and new-copy pairs in a shared Google Doc, photos renamed p1, p2 and listed the same way, font names from fonts.google.com. The intake folder was made in Drive the same afternoon. Nothing was ever filed into it. From 1 November the answer four times over was that the content was coming shortly — 1, 10 and 19 November, then 2 December.

  4. The engagement began three weeks before the first Drive folder, and the text thread is the only place that shows it.

It opens on 16 July 2024 with “Do you see LOADS of opportunity for better SEO on my website??” and becomes paid work the same afternoon. The Google Business listing was merged on 22 July, and the audit that moved the project off Squarespace — 57 URLs indexing for a sixteen-page site, images not in WebP — was written on the morning of 1 August, before any of it was written down anywhere else.

  5. The Drive record stops on 3 January 2025, and that is a limit of the record, not of the work.

The last production edit in either folder is Jamie Website Final Copy, modified 3 January 2025 at 18:49 UTC. Exactly three things are created in the 19 months that follow — a note, an empty folder and a spreadsheet — and none of them is production work. Read on its own it suggests the project ended there. It did not.

  6. The proofs were built but never reviewed.

Home Page.pdf and Pages 1 to 8 were all produced on the evening of 5 November 2024 and last opened at 21:17 the same evening, within three minutes of being made. Drive records no later opening.

  7. Production ran in two short bursts, not continuously.

October 2024 alone accounts for 145 of the 179 files in the project. The four days from 2 to 5 November account for most of the rest. Everything else is gaps.

  8. Where the two records do touch, they agree to the minute.

On 10 November 2025 at 12:16 Jamie sent a competitor’s site to model after. The reply at 1:48 that afternoon was “top 100 domains in the nation for ‘akashic records reading’”, and Drive shows the file top domains created at 21:47 UTC — 1:47 the same afternoon. That is the last piece of work either record contains.

  9. Nothing was ever cancelled. It was parked, and it is still standing.

On 12 November 2025: “For akashic roots, we will just wait.” The Webflow build was still live and being used as a working example four months later. The site does not need rebuilding to go live — it needs the copy, a booking system decided, and a domain pointed at it.

The message record

Everything above the file tables that is dated but not filed comes from here: three threads, exported on 1 Aug 2026 and read end to end. The quotations further down are reproduced exactly as they were sent.

The oldest channel, and a friendship as much as a project. The July 2024 SEO review, the first Squarespace build and the October 2025 copy instructions are here and nowhere else.

Where the work lives

The project is split across two folders in two different places, which is why the earliest and the latest documents are not filed together.

Milestones

Both records in one line. Entries marked file record are Drive timestamps; the rest name the thread they came from and carry the words that were actually said that day.

Grouped by phase. Highlighted rows are the ones that carry the story. All times are UTC.
